Philosophy

Wilshire Ave Preschool provides a Christ-centered environment designed to encourage young children to explore, learn and discover during the early years of their development.

As they explore their environment, children will grow spiritually, socially, cognitively, emotionally and physically. The children will be introduced to a wide variety of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum to enhance each child’s individual learning process. As they grow and develop, they will begin to connect their gained knowledge to their love of Jesus, daily living and self-help skills.

A positive and encouraging environment will allow children opportunities to learn basic academic skills, as well as develop independence and confidence. Large and small group formats will be used to strengthen the learning process and peer interactions. This setting fosters an atmosphere for children to learn about God’s love and master school readiness concepts. It will also provide children ample practice in cooperation, relationship building and communication techniques with their peers.

Children will discover their unique gifts and talents through hands-on experiences and activities. A playful and motivating climate creates an eagerness and curiosity to investigate God’s purpose and design for their lives. They will begin to understand the importance of being a difference maker in their relationships, the community in which they live and the world around them.

WA Preschool is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment where children and families are loved and cared for. We value strong relationships with parents, as we are “Better Together” when building strong foundations in the lives of young children.
